Civil engineering services is a vast domain covering planning, designing and construction of infrastructure such as commercial and residential buildings. Transportation infrastructure including roads, bridges, railways; water distribution systems such as dams, canals, sanitation; environmental infrastructure like landscaping, city planning, parks; industrial infrastructure; construction management; construction engineering and a lot more. With tremendous growth of economy all over the world, there is a need to implement cost-effective, yet efficient civil engineering and construction engineering practices in order to meet the mounting needs while meeting budget and time constraints. In our department there are very experienced faculties who give their best effort so that the student can raise himself / herself as a well skilled and well established person in future.

The Civil Engineering Department is one of the prestigious departments of this institute. The department offers Three year Diploma course in Civil Engineering. The focus is to provide application oriented education covering the entire spectrum of Civil Engineering.

The students are given exposure to different areas of Civil Engineering like Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resource Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Surveying etc. to develop and diversify themselves in their respective areas of interest.

The laboratories of the department have been set up with best quality state of the art sophisticated instruments for Geotechnical Engineering, Concrete Technology, Environmental Engineering, and Transportation Engineering. The department also possesses modern surveying equipment like Total Station. In-house training in computer graphics, Computer aided Design(CAD) are being conducted as a part of regular curriculum in the state of the art computer lab.

The faculty members are highly qualified, dynamic and committed. There is a balance mix of faculty from both academics and Industry. The department also gets support from emeritus professors from the premier Universities.

The first batch of bright students passed out from the department by July 2019. With the quality education received, they are sure to be proved themselves as an asset to various Industrial establishment, Govt., Public, Private establishments and Academic institutions they join.

Civil engineers design & supervise infrastructure like roads, highways, buildings, airports, tunnels, dams, bridges, pipelines & sewage systems. Civil engineering is one of the oldest types of engineering and involves modalities like design, construction, research and training. Specialties within civil engineering are vast, some of which are structural, environment, and transportation related. There is a high degree of job satisfaction because of the challenges and varying working conditions encountered in this career. By working in an office, on a computer, interacting with a client, being on site, leading teams etc. there is no degree of monotony in this profession.

Civil engineers work on complex projects, so they usually specialize in one of several areas:


CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERS :
Manage construction projects, ensuring that they are scheduled and built in accordance with plans and specifications. These engineers typically are responsible for the design and safety of temporary structures used during construction.

GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERS :
Work to make sure that foundations are solid. They focus on how structures built by civil engineers, such as buildings and tunnels, interact with the earth (including soil and rock). In addition, they design and plan for slopes, retaining walls, and tunnels.

STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS :
Design and assess major projects, such as buildings, bridges, or dams, to ensure their strength and durability.

TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERS :
Plan, design, operate, and maintain everyday systems, such as streets and highways, but they also plan larger projects, such as airports, ship ports, mass transit systems, and harbors.
